Aline Hoffmann

Graduate Intern

I am pursuing a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Saint Louis University (SLU) and serve as a research assistant in the Minority Stress and Social Determinants Lab at SLU. I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and a specialist certificate in Systemic Therapy from the Centro de Estudos da Família e do Indivíduo (CEFI), both from Brazil. Additionally, I have received basic training in Emotionally Focused Therapy at CEFI/ICEEFT and am increasingly aligning my practice with this approach.

I work with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them in navigating their unique challenges. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to help them understand themselves to find their best coping strategies. I know that starting therapy can be scary, and I strive to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible. To achieve
this, I prioritize being an authentic therapist, which I find essential for connecting with clients' vulnerabilities. My aim is to create a personalized therapy experience based on genuine human connection.

In Brazil, I worked as a psychologist and researcher in the hospital setting. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals through grief, as well as worked with couples and families. I am passionate about understanding and addressing the challenges faced by marginalized groups, particularly within LGBTQIA+ and people of color communities. I welcome every form of love and family structure, striving to understand my clients’ experiences and provide a safe space to explore their challenges.

I am excited about the opportunity to work at Diversified Health and Wellness Center, and I look forward to growing both professionally and personally through my journey with those I will work with.
