Jessica Zwicky

PLPC

Jessica’s training comes from a combination of formal education and of lived experience with anxiety/depression, an eating disorder, and suicidal ideation in her youth. After getting treatment as a young adult, and to fulfill her brother’s last wish, she decided to attend college and become a therapist herself. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and an MA in Professional Counseling, both from Lindenwood University, where she finished her studies in 2019, entering the field just as the pandemic began. She has a wide range of experience with an array of populations and concerns ranging from singular, short-term concerns to lifelong, complex issues and diagnoses due to her work in inpatient psychiatric care and outpatient settings, along with psychological research, outreach and advocacy
work, and other volunteer work involving mental health. She holds membership with various international honor society organizations in Counseling, Psychology, and the Social Sciences. Jessica understands where you are, because she has been there too- and knows firsthand that improvement is possible. Clients describe Jessica as patient, non-judgmental, witty, engaged, passionate, warm, and genuine. She views therapy as a collaborative process and believes that clients benefit from knowing not just “what”, but “why.” She utilizes an eclectic mix of techniques, including but not limited to CBT, REBT, DBT, MI, Logotherapy, ACT, narrative therapies, and psychodynamic techniques.

From Jessica:
“Right now you’re feeling overwhelmed. Depleted. Like no matter what you do, you just can’t shake this. You’re losing sleep and your relationships are suffering. You may even wonder what the point of all this is, and it scares you to feel this intensely hopeless. You’re scared it will never end, and you have no idea of how to begin the process of getting better, where to go from a certain point, or even what it is you’re supposed to be recovering from anyway.

Together we can work to address these feelings, learn to process and manage them, to utilize your strengths and passions to fuel your recovery and help you find yourself again. We will identify barriers to your wellness and ways to rectify them. I have been where you are. I know you can not only improve, but you can THRIVE.

I am here for you, ready to help you with tools for change, validation, reflection, insight, communication, understanding, and personal empowerment through awareness of the self.”
