Adult Children of Narcissistic Parents Group
Hello all! It's Jill here, PLPC and Executive Assistant at Diversified Health and Wellness Center. Starting Wednesday, September 14th, I will be hosting an 8-week group from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The topic is Adult Children of Narcissistic Parents, and learning the basics of narcissism, hope to cope with its side effects, and how to live a healthy life outside of its grip! I want to answer some basic questions about this group, so please read on for more!
Q: How do I sign up for the Adult Children of Narcissistic Parents group?
A: You can sign up for this group by using this link here that will direct you to the new client paperwork: https://hipaa.jotform.com/222337898081161
Q: Where are you hosting this group?
A: This group will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Diversified Health and Wellness Center located at 11042 Manchester Rd, Kirkwood, MO 63122.
Q: When does the group start, and how long will it last for?
A: This group will begin on Wednesday, September 14th, and it will run for 8 weeks. We will expect to end this group on Wednesday, November 2nd.
Q: Does it cost to participate in this group?
A: Yes, there is a fee for this group per week! It is $25/week to participate in this group. The cost is collected at the end of each group session.
Q: What makes you qualified to host a group like this?
A: That's a great question! Not only am I knowledgeable in the world of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but I also have personal experience in managing life at the hands of a former narcissistic partner. I feel both my educational background and experience allows me to safely and comfortable facilitate a group like this, and I'm really hoping to continue to enlighten others and provide unconditional support to my group members.
Q: What is the format of this group? Are you hosting virtual group sessions?
A: My current plan is to host the group in-person for this first run. Each week I will have pre-determined topics to discuss as well as educational materials to present on as it pertains to NPD. I encourage my group members to openly discuss their experiences during this group that falls in line with the topic of that evening. I would prefer for this group to be closed, but I understand that there are stipulations to that as more people want to participate! I will not be doing virtual group sessions starting out, but I hope to start virtual group meetings following the New Year, so be on the lookout for that!
Q: Will there be another group that goes outside of the parental realm of Narcissism?
A: Oh, 100%! Depending on how this group goes, I will expand from the topic of narcissistic parents to narcissistic abuse in general. I wanted to keep this first trial group pretty niche, but I will absolutely be expanding following the New Year, so, again, be on the lookout for this one!
